ROMANIA: EDP has received approval for another photovoltaic park in Romania

Share

EDP received the technical approval for the connection for a 113 MW photovoltaic park in Timiș county after, in February, the Portuguese received approval for a 122 MW one in Bacău,

The Solar Phoenix SRL company from Bucharest received last month the technical approval for connection (ATR) for a 113 MW photovoltaic park in Timiș county, according to Transelectrica data. The Bazoș Photovoltaic Power Plant should be completed at the end of 2026, and will be connected to the 220/110 kV Timișoara station.

The company developing this park is fully owned by EDP Renewables Europe, controlled by the Portuguese giant EDP, which has 22,000 MW installed globally, according to Termene.ro.

The Portuguese, present on the local market since 2008, have already installed 521 MW in renewables in Romania and, with this capacity, they still remain among the most important investors. They are also the first to put an energy storage battery in a park.

After several periods in which it stagnated, practically along with the entire market, it seems that EDP is now accelerating its development in Romania. At the end of February, another company controlled by the Portuguese giant, Energopark, obtained ATR for a photovoltaic park in Bacău county. It is about the photovoltaic power plant Izvorul Berheciului, designed with a power of 122 MW, which will be connected to the Transeletrica network in a new 110 KV station. The estimated date of putting the park into operation is, however, quite far away, December 31, 2027.
