Renewable energy is not only about a cleaner environment, but also about new technologies and the creation of more than 100,000 new “green” jobs in Romania, until 2050, said on Thursday, the Minister of Environment, Water and Forests, Mircea Fechet , at the opening of the Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec event, from Romexpo.

“I am glad that we are once again able to try to put on the public agenda, on the one hand, the news in the field of environmental technologies and at the same time to discuss once again about climate change, about the impact that climate change already has in Romania and not only that, and let’s hope that at the end of these days we can say together that this event was a success. I can’t wait to participate and see each exhibitor, to see what exactly they propose at this fair. (…) When we talk about green energy, when we talk about renewable energy sources, whether it’s wind energy or solar energy, we’re not only talking about a cleaner environment, but also about technologies and jobs. And in the ‘Neutral Romania’ scenario, in which we set out to reach by 2050, we will have at least 100,000 new jobs, 100,000 ‘green’ jobs”, said Fechet.

The official also conveyed that the Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec 2024 event has “behind these doors, an impressive number of commercial companies that will present us with the latest technologies”.

The largest fair of renewable energies and environmental protection in Romania – Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec – takes place between April 11-13, 2024, at the Romexpo Exhibition Center in the Capital.

Partners in the organization and promotion of this event, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, propose to strengthen their efforts in promoting sustainability and innovation in the field of environmental protection, by offering a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices at international level, thus emphasizing Romania’s commitment to environmental policies and sustainable development.

More than 150 international and local brands from the fields of energy and environmental protection, 40 international and local speakers will participate in the Romexpo fair, and demonstrations of technologies and equipment will take place outside. Also, the event will offer an impressive variety of stands and exhibitions, including large stands.

At the same time, the International Environment Forum will take place, organized by the publication Infomediu Europa, in partnership with the prime minister’s chancellery and MMAP, during which plenary sessions, workshops and discussion panels are scheduled, with the aim of bringing together leaders of opinion, international experts, Government representatives and private initiatives to debate and develop sustainable solutions for global environmental challenges.
