The Competition Council has authorized the transaction by which the Cypriot company Emma Lambda Limited intends to take over Stratum Energy Romania LLC, together with Stratum Energy Romania LLC Wilmington, Bucharest Branch and its subsidiaries, informs the institution.
Emma Lambda is part of the Emma Group, active in the energy sector, the gambling sector, the medical services sector, the pharmaceutical sector, digital commercial services, etc., in countries such as Cyprus, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia and Hungary.
In Romania, the Emma Group controls a number of companies engaged in the supply and distribution of natural gas, production, supply and distribution of electricity and production of energy from renewable sources (wind and solar). It is the company that controls Premier Energy.
Stratum Energy Romania LLC is a natural gas producer that operates the Poduri gas and crude oil perimeter, delimited by the Moinești EV-1 concession, in Bacău county.
Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
The decision will be published on the website of the national competition authority, after the removal of confidential information.
