A company controlled by Econergy, one of the most active investors in the photovoltaic energy segment in Romania, received from ANRE the final authorization for a 60 MW photovoltaic park in Dobrogea.
“Establishment authorization requested by the company OVIDIU PV REGENERABILE S.R.L. for the realization of the new energy capacity of the Ovidiu Photovoltaic Park”. This is one of the decisions adopted by the Regulatory Committee of ANRE in its last meeting.
OVIDIU PV REGENERABILE S.R.L. is controlled by the Israeli company Econergy, according to Termene.ro data.
When ANRE issues the establishment authorization, the project developer must prove that he has the financing for the construction of the energy capacity, so, most likely, this project will be one of those that will be completed and produce electricity.
According to available public data, the company is developing a 60 MW photovoltaic park in the Ovidiu town of Constanța county, which will have over 109,000 photovoltaic panels, 276 inverters, a 20/110 kV step-up transformer station and a 110 kV LES underground connection of approximately 300 m to the existing 110 kV LEA.
The firm that has now obtained the final authorization from ANRE was bought by Econergy last year in autumn, from two local companies, Enpower and Electroconst.
Econergy is an independent power producer (IPP) operating in six key markets: Romania, Italy, UK, Spain, Poland and Greece. The development project consists of 8.2 GW of wind and solar PV in various stages of development and 7.6 GWh of storage. The company operates across the entire energy value chain, from development to construction and operation, specializing in utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Econergy is one of the most active players in this second wave of renewables in Romania. According to the latest data, the company has a capacity under development of 2GW in Romania, of which 246 MW are in commercial operation and approximately 800 MW are in the final stages of development and construction, of which approximately 198 MW are expected to be connected by the end of the year 2024. Dates are as of mid-year
In addition, the company recently signed a binding agreement with a subsidiary of a leading Balkan conglomerate for the sale of the Niclești project in Romania, with a capacity of approximately 214MW, which is in the “Ready to build” stage.
