ROMANIA: European money for a photovoltaic panel factory in Romania

The Ministry of Energy has signed a financing contract with a company from Brașov that will receive money from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the construction of a photovoltaic panel factory.
The contract was signed with the company SC KBK KRAFT PROJEKT S.R.L, which submitted a project for the establishment of a factory of photovoltaic panels (modules) with a capacity of 140 MW. The value of the financing – a state aid granted – amounts to almost 3.9 million euros.
The financing was granted based on a line from the PNRR, “Investment 4.2 – Production and recycling of photovoltaic cells and panels The Ministry of Energy promotes investments in the complete value chain of photovoltaic cells and panels, by financing production, assembly and recycling capacities. The objective of the measure is to build production capacities of at least 200 MW/year”, the Ministry says.
According to the BizBrașov publication, the beneficiary company was established in 2018, has an annual turnover of over 11 million lei, is owned by Bessarabian entrepreneurs with Romanian citizenship Veaceslav Caragacian, Nicolae Bosii and Andrei Jelescu, has a project to build an industrial assembly hall of photovoltaic panels in the municipality of Sfântu Gheorghe. The project is designed on a land area of almost 1 hectare and aims for a daily production capacity of over 430 panels.
