E.ON Energie Romania installed, in the first 10 months of this year, more than 100 charging points for electric cars, public and private, thus exceeding 550 units installed so far in Romania.
If before 2020 the company installed an average of 20 to 30 charging points for electric cars per year, then the pace increased to over 200 last year, so about ten times more.
“We set out to play a leading role in the development of infrastructure and solutions for electric mobility in Romania and we are making rapid progress. For example, our customers currently have access to more than 2,000 charging points, through the E.ON Drive app, both our own and those of our partners, and at European level to more than 500,000 charging points operated by E. ON Drive Infrastructure”, said Claudia Griech, general director of E.ON Energie Romania.
Over 32,000 charging sessions were recorded in the E.ON Drive application in the first 10 months of this year, charging over 560,000 kWh, on average approx. 56,000 kWh per month. Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of charging sessions increased by 31% and the amount of energy by 71%.
E.ON Drive, the first turnkey solution dedicated to electric car owners, residential, business or municipal customers, was launched in 2018. Available on www.eondrive.ro, the E.ON Drive application brings lower prices than single payments , access to the station map and their status, favorite stations
issuing RFID card for start-stop charging and payment directly from the mobile application.
At the same time, the company rewards the customers’ effort to have a greener and more sustainable future, planting a tree for every 10 kWh supplied at E.ON Drive stations. Thus, 96,000 saplings were planted during the annual planting campaigns, carried out starting in 2021.
