Share

The electricity distribution companies Rețele Electrice Muntenia, Rețele Electrice Dobrogea and Rețele Electrice Banat, part of the PPC Group in Romania, are merging under the name Rețele Electrice Romania on November 30, 2024.

The merger of the companies into a single legal entity aims to optimize specific operations in the 3 regions where they operate, by improving the efficiency of resource allocation and reducing administrative complexity.

Digitized and resilient grids are essential to provide customers with services adapted to the new realities of the energy transition, with increased consumption at household level, decentralized energy production at prosumers or electric mobility. By merging our companies, we will improve operational efficiency in the medium and long term, which will allow us to accelerate the modernization of the distribution networks and make a key contribution to Romania’s energy transition,” stated Mihai Pește, Managing Director of Rețele Electrice Romania.

The company is also launching the new Rețele Electrice Romania website, , www.reteleelectrice.ro, with a series of new features designed to offer customers a more intuitive and informative digital experience. On the home page, the outage widget allows users to quickly check whether there is a planned or accidental outage by entering the POD code of the place of consumption. Also, the new smart meter widget allows users to find out if they already have a smart meter installed at their address or when it is scheduled to be installed, giving them the possibility to leave their contact details for an appointment.

The contact form has also been improved to make it simpler and more intuitive to use, with clear steps and an option to anonymously report electricity theft. Users now have the option to submit the installation file online, without authentication, which is essential in the grid connection process. The section on connection information is now structured in stages, providing an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide. In addition, the applications hub brings together the documentation needed for various interactions with the distributor, along with an interactive map of information centers and a page with accessible explanations of specific energy distribution terms.

The new company will continue to provide electricity distribution services in Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov, Giurgiu, Constanța, Tulcea, Ialomița, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Timiș, Hunedoara and Arad. Customers will continue to benefit from the services that we are continuously improving, of advanced technologies in electricity distribution and technical digital solutions but also for interaction with the company.

The customer contact centers remain unchanged, as do the contact telephone numbers. Customers can contact the company on the same phone numbers, for inconvenience:

  • Arad, Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, Timiș: 0800.070.444 (GreenPhone) or county code + 929 (normal rate)
