ROMANIA: Romgaz’s gas production increased by 3.6% last year

Romgaz, Romania’s largest state-controlled gas producer, reported gas production of 4.96 billion cubic meters for 2024, up 3.64% year-on-year, according to data published by the company.
The company’s gas sales rose by just 1.03% to 4.57 billion cubic meters, according to the same data.
Overall, Romgaz’s hydrocarbon production (gas and condensate) increased by 4% in 2024, to 32.21 million boe (barrels of oil equivalent), including a 62.81% increase in condensate extraction.
Electricity production at Romgaz’s old Iernut plant fell by 8.55% to 880 GWh. The new Brazi plant is expected to be operational this summer.
