WALDEVAR Energy and Prime Batteries are contributing to the development of the “Da Vinci New Project” project, a large-scale photovoltaic park located in Nanov, Teleorman County, owned by Alive Capital, according to a press release.
Installed on a plot of 247,000 square meters, the park will have a total power of 26 MWp, of which 23 MWp financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) – Component C6: Energy, and the remaining 3 MW through the developer’s own sources. The system integrates 44,448 photovoltaic panels supported by 78 inverters.
The project is differentiated by the integration of an electrical energy storage system (BESS), with an installed power of 5 MW and a total capacity of 10 MWh, provided by Prime Batteries. This component offers operational flexibility and grid regulation capacity, contributing to the stability of the energy flow.
“We started 2025 with the energies of the future and we continue it with emblematic results for Romania. We have exceeded 1.5 GW of installed power through our projects alone and we have just returned from Intersolar, the largest trade fair in the industry, where we revalidated the strategic alignment to a greener future. Today we mark a truly special moment, together with Prime Batteries, in the development of the Da Vinci New Project for Alive Capital – partners who challenge us to excellence. We have more than one step forward – we have a firm commitment to energy security and a perfectly balanced energy system.”, says Cristian Dragomir, CEO of WALDEVAR Energy
“The installation of a storage system in the Nanov photovoltaic power plant is a natural step towards a more flexible and sustainable future. We are pleased that two renowned Romanian companies, Waldevar Energy and Prime Batteries, have laid the foundations for a partnership that contributes to Romania’s energy strategy. Together we build solutions that bring stability and flexibility to the national energy system and we are proud to we contribute to this transformation”, says Giacomo Billi, Founder & CEO Alive Capital
“Our participation in this project represents the debut of the collaboration with the Alive Capital company, which we are happy about, given the expertise and experience that the company has in the local energy market. The association with WALDEVAR Energy is a natural step in our strategy to develop as many projects as possible in Romania, together with Romanians. We appreciate this opportunity to be part of another project of strategic importance for Romania.” Vicențiu Ciobanu CEO Prime Batteries
According to technical estimates, “Da Vinci New Project” will generate approximately 35,022 MWh annually, the equivalent of consumption for approximately 14,590 homes. Carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 88,310 tons per year, and the equivalent production of primary energy is estimated at 3,057.82 toe (tons of oil equivalent). This partnership reflects a pragmatic approach to developing modern energy infrastructure, bringing together WALDEVAR Energy’s expertise in execution and development, Alive Capital’s ability to manage energy assets, and the advanced storage technology provided by Prime Batteries.
