Eurowind invests 175 million euros in a large photovoltaic park in Dâmbovița

Eurowind Energy invests 174.8 million euros in the development of the company’s largest photovoltaic park in Romania, in Vișina, Dâmbovița County, the company said in a press release

Eurowind Energy, developer and operator of renewable projects, announces the development of a new photovoltaic park in the town of Vișina, Dâmbovița County. With an installed capacity of 220 MW, the project will become the largest in the company’s local portfolio and one of the largest in Romania. The total estimated value of the investment is 174.8 million euros.

“We are a serious player, with solid long-term plans for Romania and a local pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW in various stages of development. The Vișina project is an important one for us – we have been working on it for several years and we are happy that it is getting closer to the construction phase. We always think long-term, and where needed, we are ready to integrate storage solutions, to support the balance of the grid and contribute to the sustainable development of the energy sector”, said Adrian Dobre, Country Manager Romania, Eurowind Energy.

The park will be developed on a land of 354 hectares and will integrate over 400,000 photovoltaic panels. When mature, it will produce approximately 400 GWh of electricity from renewable sources annually – equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 150,000 households.

“The investment will bring significant benefits to the community of Vișina. Eurowind Energy will modernize a 7.5 km long public agricultural road, which will remain open access, thus contributing to the local infrastructure,” the company says.

Vișina is the fifth photovoltaic project developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, after those in Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești and Teiuș. By the end of 2025, the company will have a local operational portfolio of 124 MW, to which is added a pipeline in development of approximately 7.5 GW, covering solar, wind, hybrid and storage solutions.
