ROMANIA: Romgaz increased its gas production

Romgaz increased its natural gas production in the first quarter of this year, the company announced.
Romgaz produced in the first three months of this year 1.29 billion cubic meters of gas, almost 4.4% above the level of the first quarter of 2023. It is the largest quarterly amount of gas extracted by Romgaz in the last five quarters , according to company data.
As for gas sales from domestic production, they decreased by more than 7% compared to the same period last year, but with a level of 1.2 billion cubic meters, they are above that of the previous quarter.
The company’s electricity production – Romgaz operates the old thermal power plant from Iernut – also decreased in the first quarter of the year, by 18% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, up to 263 GWh.
